Join us for a panel discussion of where investors are seeing opportunities during these uncertain times. A global panel of experts will discuss what is happening in their regions and on a global scale.

Moderator:

Steve Williams, Vice President Emeritus, Real Capital Analytics

Mr. Williams has enjoyed a 50-year career in commercial real estate beginning as an appraiser before opening an advisory business. Steve has recently retired from his full-time role as RCA’s Executive Managing Director where he acted as global ambassador to contribute to the company’s international expansion.  Over the years Steve has held prominent leadership roles in the real estate industry including Past President of RICS. He sits on the Board of IRES. Educationally, Steve has been a visiting lecturer at Duke University and a board member of the University of Wisconsin’s Global Real Estate Masters (GREM) program.

Panelists:

Henry Chin, Global Head of Investor Thought Leadership & Head of Research, APAC, CBRE

Dr. Chin leads CBRE’s investor thought leadership across all regions and oversees all research activity in Asia Pacific. From 2019-2020 he also served as Head of Research, EMEA. Before joining CBRE, Henry was head of Asia Pacific research and strategy at PGIM, Prudential Financials Inc. Henry also spent several years with Deutsche Bank Group and began his career as lead Asian real estate analyst for DTZ.  Henry is a visiting professor at Oxford Brookes University (UK) and an assistant professor at National Taipei University (Taiwan). He is also a member of SPR, IPF, ULI, APREA, ANREV, ICSC, SFC Hong Kong, HKSI and UKSIP. He holds an Investment Management Certificate (IMC) in the UK and a PhD in Real Estate Investment from Oxford Brookes University.

Jess Cleland, COO: Africa, Valuations & Property Intel, Broll Property Group

Ms. Cleland leads Broll’s businesses across Africa (excluding SA), as well as the Valuations and Intel divisions. Since joining Broll in 2013, Jess has held Divisional Director: Strategy & Consulting within Occupier Services, then Group Managing Director: East Africa & Indian Ocean. Before Broll she was Research Director at IPD (MSCI). Jess holds an MBA in International Business and a Master of Property. She was a 2020 API Award for Women in Africa Real Estate finalist, and in 2018 won Professional of the Year – Private Sector (Gauteng) at the SA Women in Property Awards. She is a Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors and achieved Certified Business Advisor from the Institute of Business Advisors of Southern Africa.

Simon Mallinson, Executive Managing Director, EMEA & APAC, Real Capital Analytics

Based in London, Mr. Mallison joined Real Capital Analytics in January 2013. He has board level responsibility for EMEA and APAC, with a particular passion for the continued development of RCA’s industry-leading client service and capital markets analytics. Previously, Simon was Senior Director leading European Research at Invesco Real Estate. Prior to Invesco, Simon held a number of roles with IPD (MSCI) in London and the United States. As Head of US Services, based in Chicago, he established IPD’s first North American office. Simon is a Board Member of NCREIF and a member of RICS. He holds degrees from both Leeds and Manchester University.

Ana C. Ribeiro, Managing Director, Capright

Since joining Capright in 2010, Ms. Ribeiro has completed and supervised numerous valuation, due diligence, and specialized consulting assignments throughout the major markets in Brazil.  She currently oversees all of the company’s Brazil operations.  Ana was also part of the team that created SiiLA, a data and information platform for commercial real estate in Latin America that spun off from Capright in 2015.  SiiLA is now the largest data platform in Latin America.  Ana serves on the Board of SiiLA’s multinationa parent company REIX Corporation. Before joining Capright, Ana worked at Mesirow Financial and Coface North America in risk management and insurance.
